What is a direct drive racing wheel?
A direct drive wheel connects the motor directly to the wheel, offering stronger, faster, and more detailed force feedback than gear or belt systems by avoiding torque loss from mechanical parts.
What is torque in a racing wheel?
Torque is the motor’s rotational force, measured in N·m. The force you feel = torque × gear ratio ÷ wheel diameter. For example, the PXN VD10 outputs 10 N·m ÷ 0.33 m = 30 N, or about 3 kg of force at the wheel.
What motor type is used in direct drive wheels?
Most use brushless motors. High-end models use servo motors, which offer better precision, stability, and torque response. All PXN VD series bases use servo motors for smoother and more accurate force feedback.
Is the quick-release system compatible with other brands’ systems?
Mechanically, the VD series 6-ball quick-release is compatible with other brands. However, the electrical connectors differ, and improper use can cause damage. So, only mechanical parts are interchangeable.
Which racing wheel base should I choose?
Choose a gaming steering wheel base based on your needs:
VD4 Base suits casual or street cars (low torque).
VD6 Base fits competitive racing (6–7Nm torque).
VD10 Base offers strong torque for most racing cars and better feedback detail.

Sense+ algorithm offers detailed, smooth force feedback reflecting road conditions and tire dynamics. The aluminum chassis and smart thermal control system provide stable and consistent performance, even during long racing sessions.
W AS Racing Wheel: This 11-inch (28cm) gaming steering wheel features a sturdy aluminum alloy frame with a microfiber leather grip for comfort and control. It includes a dynamic RGB telemetry light bar for real-time speed display, 19 programmable buttons, 2 rotary encoders, and 4 aluminum paddle shifters (2 linear, 2 tactile) for immersive racing input. The quick-release system enables fast and secure attachment to PXN VD-series bases.
PD HM Hall Sensor 2-Pedal & Desk Clamp: Constructed from full-metal, the PD HM 2-pedal set features high-precision Hall-effect sensors on throttle, brake, and clutch for accurate input. Adjustable height and angle settings enable customization, with response curves configurable via PXN’s PC software. The included desk clamp ensures stable mounting on desktops or compatible racing stands.
